Who We Are!
Zigeunerhof Kennel is owned and operated by Peter Oja. Peter was the first President and founder of the Scottsdale Schutzhund Club, where he continues to serve as the Club Training Director. Originally from Sweden, he moved to the United States in 1989 and currently resides in Cave Creek, Arizona.
Peter's interest in dogs began at the age of 15 when he was a volunteer with the local police department in their K-9 division in the capacity of decoy. During his internship with the department, Peter's interest in working dogs continued to develop and he subsequently attained a Level 3 Certification as a dog instructor through the Swedish Air Force. Over the past 30 years, Peter has built a distinguished record by training dogs and by successfully titling numerous dogs in both Europe and the Unites States.
During his career, he has trained dogs for use in military, law enforcement and search and rescue roles. Peter is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Judge (AKC CGC).
